Of all the jamb peg styles this is would have to the easiest to use. 64 index dopsticks are standard for this machine, Very accurate and easy to use but they must be of good quality as they are the equivalent to a faceting hand piece minus the angle stop and protractor, weight is approx 50 grams.
This 48 index dopstick is used mainly for trillion cut stones, looks a bit rough in the pic but it is very accurate. The dopped stone position and the indexing works a little differently to the 64 index. Doesn't take long to get the hang of it and then cutting goes quite quickly.
This is the setting for cutting the 8 main facets on a round brilliant cut.
Each side of the octagon can be divided by the 8 notches, 3 left, 3 right plus the main "0" and 4 which is the star setting half way between mains.

Notch 4 which is half way between the mains which is the star facet setting .
The notch marked -2 is the setting for cutting the left break facet, 8 facets are cut at this setting, you have to judge the size of the facet, don't over cut, it's better to keep it a bit small as you can go around again later, doesn't take long
The notch marked 2 is the setting for cutting the right break facet, 8 facets are cut at this setting, same procedure as for the left break facet.
